What? I'm moving!

Ok, so it turns out not only do I have to move from Apartment 11 to 15, but I guess I am looking for housing elsewhere? Today when I got home from work I logged onto my BYU-Idaho account and email to see what is up, what homework I need to do before school starts, and how much this college thing is going to cost me this semester. I was greeted with about 7 or 8 emails telling me of different housing contracts available around campus and that my ad for housing had been approved for posting... Well if you are still following, good for you, if not you are just as confused as I was at this point.

I remembered that a few days ago I had used my roommates computer to look up some info on my school account, but had not logged out after I was done. After I was done she had proceeded to look for some housing around campus and had posted an ad that she was looking for housing on the west side of campus. She had done all of this under my account not knowing that she was logged in as me, and not as her. So it resulted in me getting various emails of girls offering to sell me their contracts for fall and my very own ad posted on the BYU-I bulletin board. Whooooo!

All of you who know me know that I would be thoroughly entertained by this, and I was. I was laughing so hard and was pleased to find out that so many people are willing to sell me their contracts, although I already have a place to live and have lived here for quite some time. LOVE IT!

This is "My Ad" (actually its Chante's, it just says its mine!)

Gutting a fish...totally under rated!

Last weekend I had the blessed opportunity to take my favorite form of transportation (The Salt Lake Express...AKA Hell on wheels!) home to Utah for a weekend out in the mountainous terrain of the Uintahs. I was more than ready for a break from Rexburg, and the people in Rexburg. I got home to Utah and prepared the trailer for our blessed trip. And let me tell you it takes a lot of work and planning to go out camping, especially when the trailer hasn't been out in about 7 years. (That is about to change though, I hope.)

It was a great trip full of fishing, games, fire, food and plenty of bonding time with the fam. One highlight from the trip was when I caught a whopping 15" fish and I sure was proud! I think that my brothers were jealous, but they weren't the ones gutting the fish. We caught a grand total of 35 fish, but threw most of them back. It was a great trip and I got to do my favorite part of fishing....GUTTING THEM. Most people would think that gutting a fish is the most inhumane and disgusting part of fishing....well ladies and gents, I beg to differ. As morbid and grotesque as this may sound gutting out a fish brings a slight grin (well actually a big grin) to my face. I love fishing, I love camping, but I LOVE gutting out those little aquatic specimen.

ROADTRIP!!!!

This past Tuesday my roommate Kimberly and my newly obtained friend Dustin took a day road trip spanning from Rexburg Idaho to my home town of SoJo, all in one day. Our day included a stop at McDonald's for some breakfast, a visit to Robert's Art and Crafts, and me doing a bunch of homework, getting a whole bunch of new clothes from Aunt Barbara and some Chinese food from momma Linda. It was a short but way fun trip full of hours of singing along with the radio and quizzing Kim on band names (she really didn't like that!). And now I can officially say I have driven the entire distance form Salt Lake to Rexburg as the driver. Whoo Whoo!

Everthing is WONDERFUL now..

Could life be any better? Things here in the city of Rexburg are great. It's finally warming up (and although we don't have AC yet we do have an endless supply of otter pops.) I have been able to sleep on top of my bed every night for the past week and take in some serious UV rays during the day. It's great. All kinds of fun has been rolling my way, with visitors almost every weekend, I don't get bored. It's adventure after adventure...from feeding fish, to picnics in the park, to an spontaneous trip to West Yellowstone. Everyone here is fun especially my roommates. Our evenings are filled with bike rides to the snow cone shack, playing on sport teams, and simply bumming around, it's great.
Life is so great, how could it possibly get better? Well I could have less homework or be able to sleep in until 9 everyday, but really it can't get much better! School in the summer time is a thousand times better than school any other time of the year I have ever gone. It's simply wonderful.
Tonight when we went out visiting teaching I was reminded of how great I really do have it. My roommate shared a message from President Monson's conference address "Be of good cheer". It was so uplifting and great to be reassured of all the blessings I have in my life. We have so much to be grateful for and should truly be of good cheer because there is so much good in the world.

Everything truly is wonderful now... thank you Everclear!

Rainy Days

Last night I left my bedroom window open just a titch. This morning I woke up to the sound of sprinkles falling from the sky. (Raindrops that is!) I love the rain, but do you know what I love more than the rain, after the rain. I love the smell rain leaves behind, when the sun finally peaks around the big dark rainclouds, and floating stick boats down the gutter.

Yeah Rain is great. But is it odd that after the rain, when all the worms come out and skid across the sidewalk, I very carefully try not to step on them? If it is, then so be it. I am not a worm squisher.

* You don't know me*

Well there is really no real reason for this post, except for ya all to get to know the real me a little better, and fine out things about me that most people don't know.

1- I love greeting cards. I could spend hours in the card isle reading card after card, laughing to myself, and finding complete enjoyment in them. I often get strange looks from other people on the card isle from my random outbursts of laughter.

2- Tetris. I am unhealthily addicted to Tetris. In my yearbook class in High School we would have Tetris tournaments, this is where my addiction began. I absolutely love playing it and have wasted a lot to many hours playing it. I once even told Amy that the reason I enjoy bagging groceries is because it's like Tetris in real life. She told me I am a nerd. (But she knows that's why I am good at bagging!)

3- I hate celery. Everything about it, the taste, the smell, the texture, even the thought of it. About the only good thing it has going for it is its color and the fact that you burn more calories by chewing it than by eating it. These two things are not reason enough for me to actually eat it. The smell of it makes me gag, and the thought of it makes me want to hurl! Some of my friends know how much I hate celery. One time one of them even told me if we got married things wouldn't work out. I asked him why and he said very snidely that when he grows up he is going to be a celery farmer... What a nerd!

4- I love Disney. Disneyland, Disney World, Disney Movies I love it all! #1 Disney movie ever made, (in my opinion of course) Toy Story, hands down. It's my all time favorite movie and I could watch it again and again. I have a secret crush on Woody and don't really know why.

5- I am a sucker.... for Daisies that is! My favorite is the classic daisy with the yellow middle and the white petals. But, I love all daisies and my heart melts every time I see them. Corny, Yes! But anyone who wants to gain a little respect from me, Daisies are the way, I'll be your friend until forever!

6- Nerds. People often make fun of them, but I myself am one when it comes to history. I love history, mostly American history. My dream vacation would be to Washington D.C. for about a month to visit all the historical stuff around. My favorite thing to watch is well made historical documentaries, and I love historical fiction. Nerd? Yes!

7- I'm a very trusting person and usually give people the benefit of the doubt. Sometimes this results in me be taken advantage of because people know I will help them, but I guess that's just how some people are.

8- I have a hard time saying no to people. This usually results in me getting overloaded with stuff then stressing out. People who really know me know I have this problem and are very forgiving.

9- I have an issue with my right ankle. When I was in ninth grade I pretty much broke it during a box-out drill at basketball practice. Now every time I move it, it pops. I use this for personal entertainment by popping it when I am sitting by Amy or Shauna because they think it is so gross.

10- I love singing and dancing like a mad woman. (my family can attest to this.)

11- I am shy. Most people who know me say that this is a lie, but the truth is that when I don't know anyone I am extremely quiet. But, once I get to know people I come out of my shell, it just takes me a time or two to warm up to people.

12- My favorite treat while doing homework is a Popsicle. That's right some good ol' fashioned frozen juice, but I won't attest to a Jamba either.

Well for the time being those are a few things that now you know that you may not have known. Hope you enjoyed a few tidbits of me and look forward to more to come in the future.

Stall Talkers

Well this blog entry has been a long time in the making. And I am finally going to tell the world about a serious issue that is at hand.... no it does not have to do with our down-turning economy, or our recently elected president who is going to fix the world, or the big problem with round-abouts in Rexburg. The issue at hand is stall talkers. I'm sure you all know them (whether you know you do or not), have been confronted by one, or perhaps you are one yourself. (Shauna...MOM!)

For those of you that have absolutely no idea what I am talking about, you soon will from a few stories of stall talking confrontations I have had myself.

A few months ago our family went to a Jazz game down at Energy Solutions Arena in Salt Lake. Upon our arrival the girls decided we should hurry and visit the facilities before tip off. Each of us was in our own stall taking care of business. All of a sudden the person in the stall next to me began a conversation with me. (I won't mention any names... Shauna!) My reaction= Well I didn't want to be rude and not respond, but I didn't want other people in the public restroom to know that she was talking to me....embarassing. I walked out of the stall over to the sink and washed my hands and informed Shauna that talking while urinating is just awkward. And she asked why, well you see Shauna, It's just plain awkward.

Second scenario. I had recently started my new job in Batch Records at Ultradent. I met up with my mom, who also works there at lunch time. We both went into use the restroom. While we were going she began talking to me. Yet again, awkward. Now she knows I won't respond if she starts talking to me.

Third scenario. I am at work yet again. In the mid afternoon, we'll say at 2:17 I went to use the restroom. This time am I the awkward third party. I walked into the bathroom and what do my wondering ears hear. Two people talking. Two people that is who are in completely different stalls carrying on a full fledged conversation while small tinkling sounds are going on in the background. Do you see something wrong here? I sure do. I was way weirded out plus I had to hear all the office gossip that they were discussing. While sometimes the office gossip is quite entertaining, the bathroom is not the time or place to discuss such things. Ew!

After these two previous incidents I came to the realization that the epitome of bad stall talking can be found in the work place. Why? Because yet again it is awkward for not only those who are participating in the conversation, but also for the innocent bystander/bystanders.

After all these going ons in the womans restroom I couldn't help but wonder if similar things happen in a men's restroom. I was sitting in my cubicle at work surrounded completely by boys and I asked myself... "Self. do men have this problem?" So I pose this question, is there a such thing as urinal talking? If so, I'm sure most men would agree that it needs to become a thing of the past.

Sorry for the long, possibly boring rant about something that may seem so unimportant and not an issue to most, but as you tell this is something I really feel passionate about. It NEEDS to stop, it must stop!

So world, say good bye.... GOODBYE STALL-TALKING!
